PF Chang’s U18AAA defenseman Danny Heath committed yesterday to Head Coach Troy Jutting to attend Minnesota State and become a Maverick for the 2009 hockey season. Heath will be the fourth Maverick from the state of Arizona, and just the second since the team went to Division I and joined the WCHA.

Danny Heath said "It has always been my dream to play in the WCHA and playing at Minnesota State in Mankato, Minnesota is a perfect fit for me to continue my education and compete in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. This is one of the premier hockey programs in the United States and has a history of developing great players".

The Director of the PF Chang’s Hockey Program and Head Coach Jim Johnson has had the opportunity to coach Danny for the past six years and has often considered him one of the top born 1990 defenseman in the country. Danny has been recognized at the National USA Hockey Select Festivals for the past several years. Coach Johnson said that Danny will be an outstanding collegiate hockey player; he has an innate ability to find open ice offensively. He will be a great addition to the Minnesota State hockey program.
